Kutmah - A Tribute To Brother Ras G & The Afrikan Space Program

Leading light of the LA beat scene, Kutmah, pays homage to the legendary Ras G, who passed away in 2019. In tribute, Kutmah assembles an album of spoken-word samples, lo-fi hip-hop, and eyes-down drum experiments. He chops and screws all manner of samples into an introspective narrative that does the memory of Ras G justice. Like his DJ sets, Kutmah’s source material draws from different eras and scenes, before he spins it all into his signature groove with some wonky MPC magic. The “Oh Ras” samples woven into each track keep the late Brainfeeder producer front and centre.
