Pharoah Sanders – Love In Us All

A tremendously joyous album from Pharoah Sanders - his last record for Impulse, and a rare thing of beauty! The album only features 2 long tracks, both of them great, and both of them showing Pharoah as more expressive, more imaginative, and more openly soulful than heard on his earlier records. The set kicks off with the tremendous "Love is Everywhere" -- a 20-minute long modal groover that soars to the skies on wings of faith and spirituality, while grooving to the ground on incredible piano lines and searing sax solos! The track followed up with the elegiac "To John" -- an extended memorial to Coltrane that shows how much change the Love Supreme legacy had inspired by the mid-70s!
